I've gotten a few of the less expensive mystery boxes before and loved them! This time I splurged a bit as a Christmas gift to myself and bought the $150 box. The box arrived yesterday with entirely Blood Angel bits as well as a pack of Reivers and sanguinary guard. While the models are great and much appreciated, I can't help but feel like I received a box with less value than the smaller boxes I've gotten in the past. Definitely still going to get more in the future! But I do feel a bit unsatisfied overall with this box in particular. Still the folks here at Spikey Bits though! Y'all are awesome!
I've tested the waters on the spikey bits mystery boxes before. It was the $100 one. First couple months were great but then by the third month felt like
I was getting his leftover scrap from his warehouse. Tried to change my personal mystery selection but Rob didn't really help much except blame the ordering platform. Canceled it immediately.
This is my second round which I tried the $150 option and thought, "hey it's the 15% sale anways, lets try again". Received, when I opened felt, 'meh' not impressed but not angry. However his price method isn't always accurate, $35 for a Magus on sprue and $75 Kill Team Phobo squad? Most stores are 10-15% under GW market value. Maybe he's adding Tax, who knows. His Freebies Gift items are good though.
If you are new to the hobby and want random stuff it's perfect and you might save some money. But if you are long time player or hobbiest get what you need instead.
